How to Not Be a Walking Red Flag
(A helpful guide for emotionally curious humans who want to suck less)
We all know what a red flag looks like in someone else.
But have you ever stopped mid-text and thought…
“Oh no. I’m the red flag.”
Same.
In the spirit of growth (and preventing unnecessary chaos), here’s a lovingly savage, slightly unhinged guide to becoming a slightly less toxic version of yourself. Equal opportunity calling-out…whether you identify as the Ghoster, the Overexplainer, or the “Haha sorry just saw this” liar.
1. Go to therapy.
Not TikTok therapy. Not “my friend is a good listener.”
Real therapy. With a human who isn’t in your group chat.
It’s wild how much smoother dating, arguing, and functioning becomes when you understand that your ex from 2014 is not, in fact, the root of all your problems… but also maybe kind of is. It’s complicated. Go unpack it professionally.
Caveat: Yes, ChatGPT counts in a pinch. I use it like a pocket therapist (often). Just know that AI can’t fix your attachment style (yet).
